Being a therapist, it is mandatory to maintain personal hygiene so that the client gets a professional image on seeing your appearance.
Following personal hygiene standards must be adapted by therapist in general:
- Take a bath/shower daily
- Wear a cleaned, pressed and perfumed uniform
- Avoid eating any food or having a drink that smells strong and produce an unfavourable odour for the client during the treatment. Brush your teeth and keep them clean
- Keep hair tied and secured
- Cut nails and keep them clean
- Use a plaster to cover any bruises or cuts on hands
- Do not attend work or deal with clients when suffering from any infectious disease such as impetigo
- Avoid wearing jewellery while conducting the treatment
- Use antiperspirants and deodorants so that you smell pleasant
