Contraindications/contractions and image (Accredited)

A contra-indication prevents a facial treatment from being carried out or restricts the way the treatment can be done. A Contra-action is an undesirable result of the treatment. It happens as a result of a negative effect of a product on a client’s skin.

ConjunctivitisAn inflammation of the conjunctiva, leading to the white part of the eye appearing reddish or pinkish. It can be caused by bacteria, viruses or allergens.
Acne vulgarisA chronic skin disease which occurs as a result of a blocked and/or inflamed pilosebaceous unit of the skin.
BoilA pus-filled swelling on the skin caused by bacterial infection and inflammation of the hair follicle.
ScabiesScabies occur due to infestation of the skin by mites. It results in an itchy red rash on the skin.
PediculosisA parasitic infestation due to head lice. They cause itching and sores may develop and get infected due to scratching of the itch.
EczemaEczema, also called atopic dermatitis, is characterized by dry itchy patches on the skin.
HyperkeratosisThis occurs as a thickening of the upper layer of the skin.
StyeAn inflamed pus filled lump at the outer edge of the eyelid.
